Business Process Automation for efficient, reliable opaerations

Applications

Example Automated Processes

A robotic workforce can be deployed in many parts of the organisation. Anywhere there are tasks that are repetitive, rule based, or have many repeated steps are routine examples. Other less intuitive cases are where it is important that a task be correct before carrying on to the next step. A robot can perform a "quality check" to ensure that all needed steps have been carried out and cross reference work to ensure that it is correct.

Connecting systems

Operations often have steps that require data in one system to be entered into another. Common examples include copying invoice data into an ERP, entering timesheets into project tracking systems or manually entering patient data into a scheduling system. Robots love work that is simply moving data from one place to another. If the task can be defined by a workflow then it can be carried out automatically. The robot will report all cases it cannot process for human intervention. Cheaper. Faster. More accurate.

Peak load responsiveness

Many activities are manageable for much of the year but have seasonal Peaks that put the organisation under considerable strain. For example, when junior doctors rotate from one hospital to another they need appropriate access cards, HR setup, IT system access, etc. in their new workplace. Automation can be deployed in this scenario to carry out many of the steps and help smooth the peak load.

Quality Control

Robotic systems can effectively check the work of humans for critical applications. For example: A bill should include certain documents, be coded correctly and have appropriate authorisation and signatures. The robot can check each element against a table of requirements and eliminate errors before the claim for payment is made. This can have a significant positive impact on Account Receivable days in a complex billing environment such as healthcare facilities making claims from insurers.
